Bowring Park Golf Club
Merseyside, North, England
Thought to be the first municipal course in England, Bowring Park was laid out in 1913 on the outskirts of Liverpool. A colourful and interesting history, the land on which Bowring Park is built was handed to the citizens of the city by its first mayor, Sir William Bowring, and former Prime Minister Harold Wilson was a member here until 1976. Today it is still a wonderfully accessible golf course, a forgiving layout and a wonderful and enjoyable place to play.
