Nine holes, that’s all it is you tell yourself. But it’s so much more than that. “Wee Demon” by name, “Wee Demon” by nature. You slalom the course, avoiding the deviously placed sand traps and water hazards. Hole by hole the ‘Demon” tests you to the full. Even the par threes are tricky. Then you hit the par five. Magnificent and wickedly clever. You long for the undulating vastness of the Carrick, but feel strangely intrigued to continue with this enigma of a course. ‘I thought i was a single handicapper’, you question as the Demon’ confounds you all the way back to the clubhouse.
