The par 74, 6,883 yard course combines a blend of both parkland and links to challenge golfers on this relatively flat terrain. The opening hole has been identified as one of the top ten opening holes in Great Britiain and Ireland, setting the standard of what is in store for you. Big hitters will enjoy some of the long par 3s and 5s in store, and clever bunkering makes the approach a good challenge. Situated between Preston and Blackpool, easily accessible from the A584.

Golf course

Opened in 1895, this course has hosted several major professional competitions including the Final Qualifying for ‘The Open’ Championship. The immaculate condition of the course, strategically placed bunkers and welcoming atmosphere are just a few reasons why this course is recognised as one of the best in the area.

Our view: Fairhaven Golf Club

Although it is situated slightly inland, Fairhaven still has a links style feel to it, but with elements of a parkland course as well. Fast greens and several long distance holes can make this course quite challenging for high handicappers. However the pristine condition and the variety of interesting holes make this hidden gem a must play.
