Golf Courses
Yeovil Golf Club offers 2 excellent golf courses, The Old Course and The Newton Course. Each course meanders through the Somerset countryside, featuring many water hazards and tree-lined holes.
Each course is superbly presented providing not only a great golfing challenge but also individual character through the design of the course.
Yeovil Old Course (Yeovil Golf Club)
The Old Course is an 18 hole, Par 72, 6150-yard parkland course. Its length should not be under estimated as each hole has its own individual challenges, through the use of tree-lined fairways and water hazards that protect many of the greens.
The signature 10th hole is a great test of nerves. This fairly short par 3, measuring 157 yards from the back tees has a well-guarded green with bunkers left, right and short. With out of bounds a matter of yards from the back of the fast and undulating green, club selection is paramount if par is to be achieved.
18 holes. Par 72. 6150 yards.
Newton Course (Yeovil Golf Club)The Newton course is a 9 hole, Par 68, 4905-yard short course, length/Par based on the nine being played twice. The course is a mixture of par 3’s, par 4’s and one short par 5.
For those not so proficient this course does nothing to discourage the beginner, and would be an ideal place to start your golfing career, or to sharpen up on any short game woes you might have. 9 holes. Par 68. 4905 yards.
