Heaton Park Golf Course is a 5,755 yard parkland course which was designed by five times Open Champion J.H. Taylor. The abundance of undulations means several imposing tee shots should be looked out for, with stunning views across the Pennines. Heaton Park Golf Club has three lakes and they all play their part in challenging golfers. Despite not being particularly long this golf course is no push over; the accurate and sensible golfer can be rewarded. The Signature hole is the 11th, a 193 yard par 3 spanning a water filled ravine and raised plateau green. Henry Cotton described it as ‘The toughest par 3 in England’.

Heaton Park Golf Club is located half a mile from junction 19 on the M60, North Manchester.

Golf course

Heaton Park Golf Club was voted ‘The Best Municipal Golf Course in Britain’ in 2005, and hosted the Nick Faldo Series in 2007; this is a golf course not to be missed. There is also a fully stocked pro shop, clubhouse and driving range on offer. When you play at Heaton Park Golf Club you are walking in the footsteps of some golfing greats including Bobby Jones, Henry Cotton and Peter Allis.

Our view: Heaton Park Golf Centre

This is a great golf course, with stunning views around a well designed and maintained golf course. The famous golf commentator Peter Allis offered his view that the 15th hole was one of the most scenic holes he had ever seen. This golf course has masses of greenery and shrubbery; on a summer’s day Heaton Park Golf Centre can be a beautiful and enchanting place.
