Hesketh Golf Course offers golfers the unique challenged of having to deal with holes meandering around tall sand dunes as well as several bordering the Ribble estuary. Henry Cotton described the hole running alongside the drive of the club as “the best short hole in Lancashire”. A tee time at Hesketh will provide all golfers with a testing and memorable round of golf.

Sitting alongside a nationally renowned nature reserve, Hesketh Golf Club is a glorious mix of links and parkland golf, and is a regular Open Qualifying venue when the Open is at Royal Birkdale. Established in 1885, it is Southport’s oldest golf club.

Our view: Hesketh Golf Club

We are not going to lie, this is a hard track. If you are not one to shy away from a great challenge then take on Hesketh. Whatever score you manage you are sure to feel like a winner as this course is a real treat.
