Hesketh Golf Course sits alongside a nationally renowned nature reserve and is a glorious mix of links and parkland golf. The golf course is a regular Open Qualifying venue when the Open is at Royal Birkdale. Established in 1885, it is Southport’s oldest golf club. There are many superb golf holes throughout the golf course, many of which wind their way through tall dunes. Henry Cotton described the hole running alongside the drive of the club as “the best short hole in Lancashire”. A tee time at Hesketh Golf Club will provide all golfers with a testing and memorable round of golf.

Hesketh Golf Club is located in Cockle Dicks Lane (just off the A565, 2 miles North of Southport town centre).

Golf course

Hesketh Golf Club was founded in 1885 and is one of the oldest golf courses in Southport. This golf club is located at the northern end of South – West Lancashire’s sand dune system and offers golfers a unique challenge of dealing with holes that meander around tall sand dunes as well as several that border the Ribble Estuary. The striking clubhouse at Hesketh Golf Club sits on the crest of a tall sandhill and can be seen clearly from the golf course and even the surrounding district.
