This par 72 is a parkland/moorland style course which measures 6,490 yards and winds through 240 acres of land. The course poses a real challenge for low handicappers with several holes stretching over 450 yards from the competition tees, the longest of these being 516 yards in distance, which gives big hitters an advantage.

Golf course

This 18 hole championship course has a mixture of moorland and parkland feel to it and presents a great challenge for golfers. It is one of the most respected courses in the area and welcomes both visitors and societies of all standards.

Our view: The Manchester Golf Club

Definitely not the easiest course in the area, which is one of the reasons why it is due to host the Lancashire Championships in 2011! The long and unforgiving fairways mean that lower handicappers may prosper more than their counterparts, although the alternate tee boxes mean that the course is still suitable for golfers of all abilities.
