This par 72 course measures 6,400 but feels a lot longer due to the hilly terrain that it is set in. Each hole has a very different feel to it on this course, with the short par 3 seventh being the signature hole. Golfers are faced with a tough to reach island green which is guarded at the rear with bunkers to punish any wayward shots.

Location

Situated to the East of Sheffield, just 5 minutes from J31 off the M1.

Golf course

The main 18 hole golf course is accompanied by a 9 hole par 3 course and a 26 bay driving range. The vast array of water features mean that this is a fairly challenging golf course and even low handicappers will struggle to make par on certain holes. The undulating fairways offer some nice views over the local surroundings and over the South Sheffield area.

Our view: Rother Valley Golf Centre

The landscape makes this golf course quite strenuous for walking, although buggies are available if required. The variance on this golf course makes for an enjoyable but testing round. Golfers should also note that the undulation in the greens can make them difficult to read and can often cost and extra shot or two. Having recently been voted by Society Golfers as the best venue in England available for under £20 this is a worthwhile golf course to play in the area.
