South Kyme Golf Club features a par 71 course, measuring at 6,500 yards and spread across 135 acres of land. With its numerous water hazards, strategically placed bunkers and challenging landing areas off the tee, South Kyme can become quite a challenging course for even low handicappers; not to mention the strong fenland winds. All these factors constitute to South Kyme entering into Lincolnshire’s top 10 courses. The opening par 4 is a nice start for many golfers and provides a good environment to settle into your round. However, big-hitters keep it straight! Any wayward drives are accosted by long rough either side, and make for a hard approach shot onto a challenging green. The signature par 3, hole 14, entices you with its short distance to the green and large landing area, however the hug lake acts as an intimidating vacuum for most golfers.

Location

South Kyme Golf Club is located 30 minutes to the north of Spalding, Lincolnshire and is accessible via the A17 and B1395.

Golf course

Established in 1990 and opened by Mr Ted Mapleforth. South Kyme Golf Club is set in tranquil countryside and is one of Licolnshire’s hidden gems. The golf club is situated around 10 miles from Boston and hugs Lincolnshire’s ‘best kept village (2010); South Kyme. The modest clubhouse includes all of the essential pre and post-golf facilities you would expect from any good venue; including a bar, restaurant changing rooms and a patio area offering a relaxed environment to discuss your round of golf with your fellow golfers. South Kyme Golf Club have hosted a number of events and competitions including ‘Lincolnshire Schools Championship in 2010 and 2011, and hosted the LUGC Licolnshire Seniors County Championship.
