Southport Old Links Golf Course (Southport Old Links Golf Club)

from £26.00

Golfers should not be put off playing this course just because it has nine holes. There are eighteen tees, many of which completely change the nature of the holes for the second nine. The total yardage for the eighteen holes is 6,450, and there are a good variety of holes to experience. The second is a deceptively difficult par 4. A strategically positioned ditch slants across the face of the green making it tough to reach, and any shots to the left will be in jeopardy of trickling into the depths, leaving golfers with the dilemma of trying to carry the water or laying up short.

18 Holes, Par 72, Yardage 6461. .

Golf course

Southport Old Links is not the most well known course in the area, however it is one of the oldest with golf being played there during the late 1800’s. Set in the Lancashire plains, this course has a links/parkland style feel to it, and has several long holes that will provide a stern test of golf. The tight fairways, quick greens and cunningly placed water features make this course a good option for even the most experienced golfers.

Our view: Southport Old Links Golf Club

Southport holds numerous little gems that are sure to challenge players experience and technique. Being situated nearby to the seaside, there is often a strong sea-breeze that can pick up, which also adds to the difficulty.
